Building a healthy business for long-term impact

The scientific foundation that Evido Health originates from was initiated by Katrine Prier Lindvig, PhD, Prof. Aleksander Krag, and Prof. Maja Thiele, consultant physicians and researchers specialised in hepatology.

The initiative grew from witnessing first-hand the severe complications that follow when patients with liver disease are diagnosed too late, while  knowing that the disease can be prevented and reversed if timely detected and treated. There was a clear and pressing need for an accurate solution that not only detects hidden diseases but is also easy to access, use, and scale.

The first patients for this research were invited and screened for liver disease already back in 2014.

The research was conducted at the Center for Liver Research at Odense University Hospital and the Institute of Clinical Research at the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Southern Denmark.

Evido Health was founded in 2021 to bring research into practice.

The output of the research and model development was a flexible and scalable non-invasive test which would use at least three out of nine common blood-based biomarkers, plus age, to accurately determine liver fibrosis.

Following the founding of Evido Health, the focus shifted towards further validating, developing, and gaining regulatory approval for the LiverPRO™ platform.

Successful real-world pilots of deploying LiverPRO were conducted in both Denmark and Norway. These collaborations and projects were supported by both European and national soft funding programmes, including an Eurostars grant from the Eureka Network and a Danish grant from Innovation Fund Denmark. This support confirms the pressing need and a shared ambition to change the lives of patients living with liver disease.

By early 2024, Evido Health had reached key milestones when obtaining the CE-mark (IVDR Class-B) for our LiverPRO technology and the ISO 13485 QMS certification.

The CE-mark confirms that LiverPRO meets rigorous European standards for health and safety, enabling Evido to bring LiverPRO to the European market. Hence, importantly, also closer to the patients in Europe living with hidden and undiagnosed liver disease.

In addition, the ISO 13485 certification shows Evido’s commitment to quality and safety when developing new medical devices. It covers Evido’s entire Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure that every aspect of our operations aligns with industry standards as state-of-the-art.

During 2025, Evido Health truly demonstrated the use and impact of LiverPRO in clinical practice and trial recruitment. The year started with our scientific study and work behind LiverPRO being published in The Lancet Gastroenterology and Hepatology.

Demonstrating LiverPRO further involved collaborating with leading companies such as Eli Lilly, Boehringer Ingelheim, and Takeda. Data from these collaborations were presented at the annual EASL Congress, AASLD Liver Meeting, and MASH Drug Development Summit, respectively.

Evido Health also entered a collaboration agreement with Roche to distribute LiverPRO to physicians and patients through the navify® Algorithm Suite from Roche.

Evido Health is on a growth journey striving towards a world where healthcare professionals have access to the right resources at the right time, in turn giving patients the chance to live longer and healthier.

Early diagnosis and interventions with tailored treatments should be the norm, not the exception. By utilising science and technology to detect and manage hidden diseases, we want to be the key to a preventive healthcare system.
